We followed the route 北潭凹 (Pak Tam Au)> 赤徑> 鹹田> 大灣(Tai Wan) on April 22, 2011. It was surprisingly clean, despite of lots of hikers along the way.
We passed through a camping site, which was clean as well. Cattle excrements were spotted but we didn't see any cattle the whole day.
See enclosed photos of dilapidated houses along the country trail. Nobody lives there anymore. Vegetation is taking over. Nothing is being done to either revert it back to its natural state. The houses featured were taken before the camp site and near the public restrooms (there are very few along the trail).
